A Great Gaming Company

Platforming

Problems

problems

The platformer genre has a few issues that affect a majority of games, the biggest issue being the lack of a balanced amount of difficulty. Our company plans to deal with this issue in ways not done before.

Too Easy? Too Hard?

difficulty

Many games are either too easy and inevitably boring, or are interesting but too difficult for the average consumer. How do we balance difficulty to simultaneously solve both sides of the issue?

Too Boring to Play?

repetition

Many games require too much repetition to be enjoyable, with inevitably too many repeated attempts or repeated tasks. How do we find a way to increase or decrease difficulty without adding pointless repetition?

Too Frustrating to Play?

control

Many games fail to have a natural and intuitive control scheme that immerses the player, which leads to an artificial spike in difficulty. How do we perfect the controls to suit every player and minimize artificial difficulty?

The solution to this imbalance is to provide options to the player.

The option to choose a casual, normal, or a challenging playthrough provides players the experience they want, not one that's too easy or too hard.

The option to choose which levels they want to play to progress provides players the experience they want, not one that's too boring.

The option to choose how they control their character provides players the experience they want, not one that's too frustrating.

Our new upcoming project Jumpdive is not only going to implement these solutions to create a better platformer, but it's also going to feature a plethora of brand new innovations to modernize and repopularize the platformer genre.
